Mr Fawcett,
Woburn, Mass.

I have been intending to write you since last March when I saw your name and picture with your wife and child in The Sunday Haerald.  I have an experience with flying objects in March 3rd. or 4th. Sunday 1947.  I approached a fiying field just on the outskirts of Augusta, Maine.  Early in the morning between 6 and 7, I could see in the distance round scaling objects over the field from a height and distance about three of them and my be four.  I went by the end of the field at a lower level.  When I did I saw (sic) one of them thought they were un-conventional aircraft.  They were like pie plates upside down, scaled and sailed through the air.  Exhaust came out of the edges. I would judge they were at least 60 to 75 feet in diameter.  I was about 500 feet from the one I describe.  I could not identify any other features as they whirled too fast.  I reported them to air corps and they did not call me a liar.  No one has believed me.  Some one has said they were due to draughts of air.  I saw no air drafts.  They were machines.  Never saw them again although I went by the field many times.

Dr Burton W. Trask.
